GAS SPRING STRUTS
by Frank Irvine

Seasons Greetings Ted, I just came across your informative web page & to let you know as you folk are specialists in Pantera sports cars. I specialize in Gas Spring Struts & if I can offer any assistance & I see you have overcome the problem with the original strut (having just serviced a pair for an owner) as the original strut with a 8 ml shaft has a high loading to move&the solution is to go to a 10 ml or larger dia. shaft so it is not working as hard & they last a lot longer. Another tip Ted for owners that still have struts in place a good idea is to open the hatches periodically to let the strut shaft extend& the seal gets lubricated in the process & it's amazing how often I see struts installed the wrong way, they should always be installed Body Above Shaft, it helps the seals they last a lot longer. All the best if you need any help e-mail me at info@strutwise.com Frank Irvine.
